What is Calcium?
for bones, muscles, and nerves
Calcium is required for bones, muscle contraction, nerve function, and blood clotting. The value is tightly regulated by parathyroid glands, vitamin D, and kidneys.
The value is read alongside albumin because much calcium is protein-bound. With low albumin, an albumin-corrected calcium should be used.
